if you are switching from knit to purl for your border are you making sure to keep the yarn in the back of the needles for knit and then bringing the yarn between the needles to the front to purl? if you dont remember to move the yarn between the needles and to the back (for knit) and to the front (for purl) then you get a yarn over increase, it's very easy for beginning english knitters to make that mistake.

One of the knit shop owners that I frequent told me about this site. I've been knitting for years but this site is a big help, a quick reference. What an ingenious idea. Can't wait to see what you will continue to do with it. Thanks Amy. Let us fans know when you're in the Chicago area for whatever reason. It would be nice to meet you, have a knitting get-together.

New here and New to Knitting !
Hi !
I just joined this forum. This site seems so good with all the fantastic videos. I've wanted to learn knitting for a long time now and have finally plunged in. In the part of the world where I live it's very difficult to get craft supplies and getting yarn is an even greater challenge. What we get out here is inferior quality local nameless yarn .
But I've decided to ignore :thinking:that and go ahead with the learning to knit part:rollseyes:. I hope to meet a lot of friends here and ofcourse learn the art too
Love ,
Yas

Hi from NYC
I just stumbled upon this website and decided to join. I started knitting 6 yrs ago after an accident made me unable to work for a long time. Daytime TV was just rotting my brain so I bought some books and tried to teach myself. I'm still trying to learn the basics and have started knitting classes. I figured this group might help supplement my learning and hopefully I can make some new friends.
Peace

Hi Everyone. I just started knitting about a year ago with a great deal of help from this site! My posts (and knitting) have been a bit sporatic... I got side tracked with my student teaching semester (SO much fun teaching orchestra grades 4-12!!!), and a spring semester of teaching elementary general music (learned a LOT from that experience).
I love reading everyone's posts, and seeing the pictures of FO's. They are so inspiring!

:-)
