Hi all,

I'm Jill, I'm 33 and have been knitting for about a year.(i did learn when I was about 7 from my nan, but gave it up, then learnt again at college - it was part of my nursery nurse course)i then didn't do anything for about 10 years, then when my church got involved with Operation Christmas Child I decided to start again.I sat down with a book one afternoon and spent several hours teaching myself to make a slip knot and cast on - which I never got the hang of before.

I'm still a plain knitter,I've done about 60 hats/scarves/mittens over the years. I'm currently losing weight with another stone and a half still to lose, so I'm not knitting for myself - yet!But I am going to two knitting groups and am feeling inspired to learn one new technique at a time
