Sweater Pattern Help
I i'm new to this site so i hope i am posting my question in the correct place ...if not please forgive me...I am making my first sweater...I did great until I got to the shoulder and neck shaping which is a turtle neck sweater the pattern says

Cast off 12 sts beg of next 2 rows. Leave rem 30 sts on a st holder.
Does that mean i cast off 12 sts put 30 sts on a holder, cut yarn and rejoin yarn and then cast of the other 12 sts? I need help lol I'm so confused. Any help would be greatly appriecated. Thank you in advance. Terri

Terri, you'll cast off 12 stitches, put 30 stitches on a stitch holder, (do NOT cut yarn), then continue to the end of that row. On the NEXT row, you'll cast off 12 stitches at the beginning of the row. This will make both sides the same.
Good luck!

By the way, I copied your question to the "How To" section of our forum. You'll get some advice there as well.

Question for anyone, Does anyone recommend a good video or thread for learning how to knit booties? I've only knitted a scarf so far so I'm quite lost on everything else.

Hello!
Hi, I bought the knitting kit at Michael's a month ago and I have been limping along trying to learn knitting since then. I found this website early on and it has been a great resource!

I am determined to learn how to knit, specifically, I want to learn how to make longies for my little girl. I hope to get lots of help and advice from all the knitters here.

If you want a basic baby bootie, knit on two needles, try this one:

If you want to learn to do circular knitting, do this one:

Hi, I'm new obviously.

I am new to knitting. And I do mean new as in I just bought the stuff yesterday and have been trying to get the hang of it since then. Figured this might be a good place to get help as I learn.
