introducing myself
Hello my name is dizzy and I am in my 45th years of age..

I am a self taught knitter, who is struggling to do the simplest of patterns, I can understand the pattern, but from hand to brain loses it some how..
So please be gentle with me, and I hope I can make some new friends here, who can share the knowledge of knitting with me..

wrong side row
I have numerous patterns that say, end with a WS row. I normally can determine what the pattern is calling for, but with the patterns I am working on now - I have no clue. So what does it mean "end with a WS row?"

If you don't mind sewing a seam and want to do these quick, I made my first pair by accident. I was doing rectangles for a charity project and ended up with one that was too big for the project. It was soft yarn, a pretty pattern and a great maroon color. I was trying to figure out what to do with it instead when I wrapped it aroung my hand and said...hmmm, that'd work

So, I made another one just like it and sewed the sides up and left a thumbhole...

My sister stole them the first chance she got

Hi!
Hello! My name is Kate. I'm based in Indiana, married with 1 child. I've crochetted for years, but still a novice to knitting. Getting better everyday though....and in awe of all the talent that is displayed on this board.

Welcome to the Knitting Help Forum, everyone!

Bless your heart! Isn't that frustrating?

The quickest way to do it would be to remove the stitches off the needle, and unravel it back a row. Then, put the stitches back onto a smaller needle. Then, knit the next row with your original needle, binding off as you go. Just be sure the stitches are facing the right way when you put them back on the needle.

Also, Amy has a video that shows how to unravel to a designated row here: http://www.knittinghelp.com/videos/knitting-tips
Just scroll down that page to the section that says, "Fixing Mistakes", and watch the video for "Inserting a needle into destination row, before unraveling"

Good luck!

Welcome, jlbucha!
You might want to ask your question in the How To Questions section of the forum.
Good luck!

"End with a WS row" means to do your last row of knitting on the WRONG SIDE of the fabric you're knitting. The wrong side is the side that is not showing on your final project. If you're making a sweater, the wrong side would be on the inside against your skin. If you're making a scarf, the wrong side would be the BACK of the scarf. If you're making a hat, the wrong side would be the inside of the hat.

The wrong side is usually not as pretty as the right side of your knitting.

You'll find lots of patterns for fingerless gloves on this website:
http://www.knittingpatterncentral.com/search.php
Just type "fingerless" in the search box.

Hello!
'ello, my name is meepers, but you can call me meep if you like. I've just finished my 2nd scarf and am working on my third, but I'm kinda getting tired of the same 'ole same 'ole, ya know? So I was wondering what the best thing for a extreme beginner would be to move on to. I would appreciate suggestions if you have any!
Thanks so much!
