Hello
Hi!
What a wonderful knitting site. I am a fairly new knitter (self taught) who usually gets mixed up very easily. This site will be a great help. Thanks to all!

Greeting All
Hi Everyone! I wanted to send out a little introduction. My name is Christy and live in a small rural community in Missouri. I'm a self taught Knitter and I love the craft with a passion. I make a lot of scarfs in different patterns, and now I'm working on my first blanket. I'm very excited about joining this site, and look forward to getting advice from experienced knitters.

A Little bit about how and why I knit.
Hi I am a novice knitter even though I have been knitting for some eight years. I say this because I have not been successful at finishing any really complicated projects.. Socks are complicated from my perspective. This perhaps explains the novice bit. I have never really mastered turning the heel and have had no one to go to to help me sort out the directions This does not stop me from trying new things...in fact I have so many projects started and books purchased with interesting knit ideas in them that I lose track sometimes. I love knitting and I have always loved textiles and the colours that you can create by blending yarns. Recently I have been trying to use the colours from a collection of paintings done by The Group of 7 They used wonderful muted tones that look great in knits. I would love to be able to make jackets and dresses but have not done so as yet. I trained as a clothing designer as a young women so you can see where my interest stems from. I like the peace that knitting affords . I can sit for hours knitting away while I listen to music or the T.V. I have a bunch of needles in a pot in my living room and when friends come by or the guest at my b&b are relazing with me,they often pick up some sticks and work at a hat I may have there in a basket beside my chair. It would be lovely to know the other people out there knitting away. I will enjoy reading your conversations and notes...and learning from your joys and disappointments with knitting. Cheers.and Applause for each of you. yours, noviceknitter8

Hello! My name is Deirdre and I just learned to knit yesterday.

I'm still going very slowly but I'm eager to get it right. I can't wait until I can make something besides a scarf or blanket (or as I am at this point- a swatch.)!
