Howdy!
Hi there,
I was a knitter, but I began to hate it because I could not recover from mistakes and was very slow, so I took up crocheting for about 2-3 years and then a friend of mine suggested continental..........she's a genius. so, now I'm back! I did a cable purse, and now I'm working on a hat and then I want to knit a baby blanket....and so many things in addition to my crocheting. Here's my blog:

Thanks you so much for the videos! They are lifesavers.

New Knitter
I just found this site and haven't had a chance to explore. I am a new knitter. I have only done a few things so far. I have made baby wash cloths for the little ones in the family. I am now making a shoulder warmer. I wish I could make something that I could sell to keep this hobby going so I could at least get the change to pay for the materials needed. I am thrilled to find this site so I might seek the help I need.

A brand new member - in fact very new to the whole idea of on-line communities, so set me right if I break protocol. I've been knitting for years [actually over 60], and I'm a believer my favorite mantra "Knitting is not Brain Sugery" - a pattern is only a set of guidelines, and that gets easier the more experience you get. Knitting is an important part of my life - I live in the wilds of Nothern Michigan, but I'm lucky enough to be only 25 miles away from my LYS in Gaylord which is not just a grea yarn store, but also a wonderful collection of women [and the occasional man] who are part friends, part family and my weekly day at the knitting table is an important part of my life. If you're not part of a knitting group, find one, or start one if you possibly can. That's what's so wonderful about this site though - knitters are supportive people, no matter what age, race, creed, socio-economic background, once the needles come out, we are all just knitters.

Miss Clumsy
Hi! my name is Amy and I'm trying to learn how to knit..my mom was a knitter and she never got around to teaching me..I can't drive so going to JoAnne's or Michael's is out of the question for now..the videos on here..the woman goes so fast I couldn't comprehend..I am so clumsy, I had a hard time keeping the yarn in my fingers trying to start up the first stich..(first whine) I have a short attention span for one thing, and my eye-hand coordination sucks..I need visual help..otherwise I'm lost and confused..so I was hoping this website would help me.. can anyone help a clumsy left handed (I think) beginner?

Hello everyone!
Welcome to our wonderful forum.

I hope things get easier for you, psychoticknitter. Just take your time, and be patient with yourself. It's better to learn it slowly and correct, than it is to learn it fast and wrong.

Hi

My name is JT I'm a 66 year old male. My business is making stained and beveled glass windows. I'm also a potter and do sculptures. I'll soon be starting a course in knitting at the local community college. Hope I'm in the "introduce yourself thread."
Have a great evening.
