Hello new here. I am new to knitting i have only been knitting six months. I have crochet for years but thought i would try knitting so far i am doing fair i think i have made a hat on straight needles my sewing needs to be better and i have made a scarf now working on a shrug and i hope i can figure out how to sew it up when it comes time. I live in Texas married have two kids a dog, cat that is about it about me. Rhonda

Thank you, Amy. I'm not the chatty kind, but I do appreciate a convenient resource. This website seems very user friendly. I haven't knitted in years and just found some yarn & needles. I was inspired to start again, but in need of some refresher courses and helpful hints. For all the help with the knitting, I'm even less adept as the website visit protocol. I don't know the first thing about the chatting, blogging whatever. I'm certain there are variations. Myfirst question, is what is the best method for going from one skein of yarn to another.

Hello one and all, I got here as i needed help, which i got on the first page i arrived at. how great was that?. I call myself a new knitter although my mother and grandmother taught me the basics at age 6..But couldn't keep a grasp of it, as a mother i tried to pick it up a few times but could never finnish a project. However since becoming a grandmother (a Young one) i have almost finnished every project..just missing out things like booties to a complete set..i'm still teaching myself and stick to easy patterns but with your help and the wonderful videos on this site i'm sure i'll be doing better..i'm doing blankets for my very early newborn grandaughter right now..with lots of colours to catch her eye..

I just started to learn to knit and I love it! Before my stroke, I designed and made my own career wear and crochet was my favorite passtime, besides music.

I can still crochet and play music, but at last I'm treating myself to learning how to knit! I'm looking forward to learning from everyone here.

I've found that if I work really, really hard, I can recover some of the function in my dominant (right) hand and the sky is the limit. Key is, to never-ever give up!
