While I would love to say that I'd read this entire thread and spent time getting to know everyone, I've not quite had the time for that. I will keep reading until I'm caught up :D.

My name is Tresha and I'm married to a wonderful man named Kit (or Kristoffer if he's made me angry with him.) The two of us and our children live in a four generation home with my side of the family. We are currently working on getting off the grid and establishing more of a homesteader way of life for ourselves. I'm a midwife and an herbalist working on my pre-med bachelor's but whether or not I'll go on to med school remains to be seen.

Years ago I learned how to crochet and cross-stitch. Cross-stitching came easily to me, though it took me more than twenty years to actually turn out a SQUARE square in crochet. I've saved that little one inch square that was my first SQUARE one. Since then I've been crocheting avidly, and was inspired to take up knitting by an unfulfilled wish of my Mama's.

I hope that over the course of the next four years I can become proficient enough at knitting to be able to begin a wedding ring shawl.

Hope I didn't ramble on too much.

Hello! I've been knitting for about a year and a half and I love it! I'm just starting to learn to crochet. I don't know many serious knitters that I can ask questions, which is why I joined this forum. :)

My name is Betty. In mid row, I knitted a stitch that was supposed to be a purl stitch. How can I correct it without working off two rows? I have already worked off so many rows that I am getting discouraged.

Hi Betty!

Just work across the next row, and when you get to the spot where the mistake is exactly under your working needles, intentionally drop the stitch, then pull the loops up to the needles again using a crochet hook.

You can see how it's done by watching Amy's video on fixing a dropped stitch. Of course, you would drop further down to the row where your mistake is.

Good morning everyone

my name is Jackie and I have recently decided that I would love to try knitting

I used to do it when i was a little girl with my mum, but i suddenly stopped due to going to school and stuff

I have a little one of 14 months and now that i am a stay at home mummy i thought i might take it up again

I have brought a book by Valerie Pierce called love...knitting and it has given me 25 simple projects ranging from hats to door stoppers lol. But as i am a complete beginner, sometimes having a book is not enough

so this is one of the reasons why i am here

i would love to share my work and get to see some experienced knitters work as well. I am just amazed at what you can do with two sticks and a ball of string!

The results that masterful knitting "net" you, can certainly be awe-inspiring, especially when you move into lace knitting and such.

Hi My name is Jennifer l live in Melbourne and have just started knitting again after 30 years I'm working on a hoodie for my grandson and have hit a hurdle, The pattern says pick up 16 stitches down the neck edge then cast on 10 how do l do this?
