Welcome Tina!
Knitting can be VERY relaxing, but it will take about a week before that happens. Learning the stitches at first will take a bit of patience. After THAT, it will be relaxing.

Where to start would be a yarn that you feel comfortable with and a set of appropriately sized needles. Then watch the videos here and on YouTube. With all the internet resources available today I really don't think that lessons or classes are something that most people need. (And I'm a HUGE fan of taking classes just for fun.)

to introduce myself....Hi
I'm Lisa, a long-time crocheter and relatively new knitter (been knitting about 8 months).

It's great to find a place with others that have a passion for knitting. I am addicted to yarn, and look forward to sharing and learning a lot in this community!

Hi y'all,...I am Katherine,...username Caasi,...as there seems to be lots of us, Kat, Kit, Kaajte, Katherines,...who enjoy knitting and crochet...I teeter between advanced beginner and just barely intermediate,...I can set a sock heel, just,....so obviously I still have a lot to learn,...but I truly enjoy the total creative process from conception to completion of a project....Been a while since I've picked up my needles,...but just peeking about this site,...I am so inspired to start clicking!

Hi Knitters
Hellow all,

I am a new knitter and new forum member. I am just starting my way to knitting, I am crocheting for about 3 months now, and learned many techniques, so I decided to learn knitting also.
Many ladies say knitting is more difficult than crochet, but I would like to give it a try
I will watch the videos and come back from time to time to see what knitters are doing here.

Welcome to our knitting and crochet world.

Some people think crochet is harder, but the truth is, neither one is easier or harder, it's what you're used to. I can do both, but prefer knitting.
