New Knitter: Hi!
I'm just now starting to think knitting might be a good hobby for me. I've heard people say that it can be relaxing. I watched a video of "how to knit" and it seems like it would be fun!

Are there specific things that a new knitter should know?

Welcome to the world of knitting!
Knitting can be very relaxing, but not at first when you're learning. So, be patient during that phase, and THEN you'll be able to relax with your knitting. To get started, just click the "Getting Started" link up at the top of our page, after hovering your mouse over the "Free Videos".

Hello there
Hi,

I'm Sparkle, I'm a full time mum of a 20mo toddler. I'm French, I live between London and Paris... Thanks to (or because of, it's depends) my boyfriend's job, I travel a lot around the world.

I knit on and off since I was a child. Sorry for my English. It can be difficult to me to write it well.

Voilą!

Hello!
Hello there!

My name is Julie and I live in San Francisco. I'm a knitting newbie (started in July) who has quickly become a yarnaholic!!

I've only made a few simple things - scarves and washcloths.

My latest knitting challenge is learning to knit in the continental style. It's been kind of frustrating b/c it didn't seem as awkward when I was learning to throw.

I love this website and am happy to have found the forum.

Greetings from the UK.
I can do basic knitting but wanted to try making a pair of socks. I was given a free pattern when I bought the wool but am totally lost and hoping for some insight here.

Hi I'm Shanika
Hello all, my name is Shanika, and I am from the island of Barbados in the Caribbean sea. I am super new to knitting and will be buying my full supply of knitting tools tomorrow. I think this is a great site from what I've seen so far and I'm excited to get started.
