Hi Amy
thanks for this website.. what a great resource for the knitting community... although I can not figure out how to create a new post!?!?

I live in Randolph, Morris County New JErsey and would love to find a great yarn shop where I can buy supplies.. there is one in Morristown but they are not very kid friendly and my nine year old daughter is a knitter.. I don't want her to be discouraged. was wondering if you or anyone on the site knew of another option for a knitting store. many thanks, Dawn

On a forum page, there's an orangey box just about the thread lists that says "Start a New Thread". But this thread is just fine for new members to stop in and introduce themselves.

Introduction
Hello! I am new to the forum and also just a beginner at knitting. This looks like a good place to be. I live in Sulphur Springs Texas. I am retired and have many interests. I am 63 years old, have 2 grown children and 3 grand children. Looking forward to being a part of the group.

Knitting Hopeful
Hello,

I just decided to learn to knit a few days ago, I've been interested in learning for a while. At this time, I really don't know how to do anything except long tail cast on and working on knit stitch. (I have no idea how I am making my mistakes and how to fix them, but I am sure that is part of the learning process.)

I look forward to gaining more information from the videos and other users.

Melissa

Hi Melissa. If you explore the pages Tips has some videos on how to fix mistakes and the How To forum has some stickied FAQs that may help you spot and prevent them.

Thank you!
Hi everyone! I'm just learning how to knit - I'm on day 2 and digging it so far. I've always wanted to learn how to knit and, 4-1/2 months after having my first baby (a girl! ), I decided it was time to give it a try.

I love how challenging it is but it actually lets me be in a meditative, calming state at the same time. And I can't WAIT to make something for my daughter.

Thank you so much for this website. I bought 2 separate how-to books and just couldn't even figure out how to cast on from them. Then I found this site and I've already started practicing the knit & purl stitches - yay!

Thrilled to find you!
I'm very excited to find this site! I'm a glass bead artist/jewelry maker but I want to combine my work with fiber. I just joined today and have already found a number of very helpful posts. I look forward to getting to know as many of you as possible and thank you in advance for all your wisdom!

Try Googling yarn or knitting shops near Randolph NJ. Several pop up but I'm not sure how close they are to you. Welcome to KH!
