I taught myself to knit this christmas, I'm really excited, I'm working on a "Fisherman's Rib Beret with Picot Brim" it's coming along great, except I'm getting close to the end. I'm in the k1 p1 rib of 4 rows on 5th row I'm to decrease, I've inserted a lifeline cuz I've tried several ways to decrease and it doesn't come out right. So Please help! Thank you very much

Its hard to tell exactly what is going on. If you give us the exact directions we might be able to be of more help. Also, your questions will be answered a lot quicker if you post in one of the sub forums. For instance, your question would be most appropriate in Pattern Central. I am mainly here looking to meet and get to know people with similar interests as me and to help me along in my journey of becoming a better knitter. I currently only have a few looms and a couple bundles of yarn and a hook and large plastic needle. What are some of the essential items I need and possible good online stores for these items?

Everyone here has similar interests. Basically you need 2 needles of the same size or a set of circular needles (2 needles connected by a cable) and smooth, light colored yarn
