Hi! I'm Sarah.
Hello fellow knitters. I've been casually knitting for years but lately I've been really interested in lace. I'm here for support and community. I'm really into the construction of things and one of my goals is to truly UNDERSTAND knitting so that I can look at an item and have a good idea of how it was made as well as finding alternatives to stitches that are better suited for construction.

There's a pattern collection I'm going through right now (I'll post more thoroughly in the appropriate thread) where the author has chosen stitches I'm not accustomed to (and don't like) using. Will tweaking and altering increase and decrease stitches drastically alter my pattern for better or worse? That's what I'm here to discover!!

Happy knitting ladies and gentlemen!

I just retired after teaching school for 39 years. I decided to learn how to knit so I took a class at our local yarn shop. I love it, but seem to run into snags on every project I've undertaken. I'm hoping to get some answers, ideas, and encouragement on this site.
