Well, Marnie was sweet enough to email me back with the question I had for her. Which she also posted above.
I'm with you Kelly, I've been running from charts ALWAYS but I wouldn't mind learning. I've got a couple new books, maybe they'll help. I stared at the pattern again,
and what is so confusing is you cast on 8 stitches, and distribute over 4 needles. Then, looking at the first row of the chart... duh,
there's only ONE stitch worked.
I just.... don't get it.
Would be really neat to knit this hat in a knit-a-long or whatever those are called. Also would be really neat if Marnie did different line by line instructions! I think I might be able to make a hat
just following a lace instruction from my new Big Book of Knitting Stitch Patterns.. and creating my own.
Oh, don't get intimidated. If you read the instructions you'll note that you work the chart 8 times per row. It's a single repeat of an 8 repeat pattern.
Your new webpage design is so pretty! Nice job! I like the Celtic/Japanese feel to the colors/designs and the layout - do you have a button I can put on my page to link to yours? (if it's okay w/you!)
