I'm Stuck!
I am currrently working on a pattern for a neckwarmer with a bib. I have completed the neck and divided the stitches as per instructions.

It now says to "cast on 14 stitches, knit the 52 stitches, then cast on 14 stitches".

I am at a total loss of how to cast on the first 14 stitches so that I do not have to knit them, but, I can immediately knit the original 52 stitches.

I am hoping someone can help me here because I am totally lost!

Thanking you in advance for your help

You could cast on with some scrap yarn of the same type used for the rest of the piece.
