Hello Everyone...thanks for all your kind comments....I'm really excited to have finished my cardigan...and mostly excited because I figured out seaming....LOL
Sara...I got the pattern from chicknits.com* and as for easy-ness of the pattern...it's actually not too bad...you have to know how to knit, purl, increase, decrease and then of course, seaming once you're finished. The newest stitch I learnt while doing it was SSK and with the help of this website, I figured it out no problem. I'm also relatively new to knitting and this is my second sweater.
I say jump in and try...you won't know until you try how to do garments and like anything else, you will learn a lot of things along the way but you have to jump in and do one. I threw caution to the wind the first time and just went for it...there's so many good instructions you can find online to help you along too.
It's also not a really expensive project to make...the yarn is reasonable and so is the pattern. For that reason, it's also a really great newbie project. There is a knit-along going on for this garment too where you can ask questions:
