free tank pattern by Coats & Clark
I'm new to this forum but I'd be interested in knitting along with others with the same project...as I give away most of my knitting too.

This is a nice tank....seems like the straps might be a little long, but I imagine that can be fixed.

These are some tank patterns I like:

1) http://www.berroco.com/189/189_lilith.html

2) http://www.interweave.com/knit/TSC/yarn_girl_tanks.asp

3) http://secure.elann.com/ShowFreePattern.asp?Id=15

4) http://chicknits.com/chickami.html

5) I really like this one, but the sizes are teeny tiny: http://www.rebecca-online.com/en/anl..._23_anl_08.pdf

Also, I'm seriously considering knitting the mudflap girl tank from SNB Nation, minus the mudflap girl.

I don't know the name of it, but that's the one I've been calling the mudflap girl. :-)

haha, ok. That one is really cool. There were some other tanks in there too and when you said mud flap, I was thinking of a knitting technique. Not the mudflap you see on a truck with a sexy woman on it.

Geez...now I can't stand it, and must go to Borders tonight for Stitch N Bitch Nation! My collection of books, internet printouts of patterns and misc supplies is overflowing my little knitting area!! The patterns on the cover do look pretty cool! I'm still working on my kitty bed from the first SnB book. There is so much straight knitting involved with that pattern that I got bored :( . However, I must persevere!

When are you thinking as a target date for a knit along?

Anyone in?? Let's pick.

How does this work...did any of you do a knit along yet??

Well, I need to get the book first. Have it on order at the library, but there's a waiting list for it. I also need to finish 3 or 4 projects before I start to think of making this. I'm up for it though.

Beldaraan -- it warms my heart to hear someone else say the should finish up some projects before beginning a new one!! It is soooo hard to stay focused on my current projects, when I keep seeing great patterns for other projects!!

Of course, that won't stop me from diving in to a knit-a-long OR from purchasing the new SnB book

We could plan a knit-a-long to start on April Fools Day! We could make an April Fools Day guage swatch ...hehe ...

I just figured out which pic was "mud flap girl" ! I'm a little worried about knitting the pic into the tank -- how hard is that?
