Thanks Kelly. Now, if only it fits when it's done.

Ooh, gardenia, I love the color! Can I ask what yarn you're using?

I think I'm getting obsessed with tank tops...I have at least 4 more I want to do this summer!

I haven't been knitting for very long, so I don't have much to compare it to, but...I LOVE Classic Elite's Provence yarn. It is mercerized, Egyptian cotton (#2625, but it looks brighter and shinier than in the photo). It is expensive, but you get over 200 yards on a hank. I've made several baby hats out of it and I love it. They were all gifts, so I can't vouch for how it will wear. But, I love to work with it. Web's has some for $8/hank right now. I've never ordered from them, though, and I've heard mixed things.

What other tanks are you thinking of knitting?

Ooh, pretty. Well, I'm also planning on doing this for my sister, another yarn girls tank for my mom, one from the spring/summer vogue knitting, and perhaps this.

Oh, and I might help out Kemp with the sizing on this one...do you think I've taken on a few too many things?!?!

Please feel free to mock me. I went to my lys this evening and said "I'm not sure how to do the armhole since it's in the round, can you help me calculate the decreases and bind off?" Well God bless my lys lady, she didn't bat an eye, just said "Well I think you could just divide the two sides and work them individually following the original pattern..." OMG, I can't believe how stupid I can be! No wonder I don't like diverging from patterns, I can't think for myself. If I didn't have a sense of humor, I would have done myself a fatal injury.

So I bought a circular needle for my 5yo's tank and slunk home. The good news is that the tank is going really well.

Oh please! :rofling: We are all in the same boat. I'm too tired now, but I know I'll have to read your post again to even understand what the LYS lady told you. I would never have figured that out on my own (at least not the first time). Good for you for having the common sense to ask for help.

Oh well... The more you do it, the less you fear it?

I'm done with the back of the tank! Whew. Now for a bit of a break. I used to like stockinette b/c it was so simple, but now I am sick of it!!!!

On the plus side, I did learn how to properly shape an armhole from this pattern. Good to know!
