Yet another new knitter question (reading pattern)
You guys may get awfully sick of me before I finally learn to knit!

I can learn most anything I can watch, but when it comes to following written directions, I seem to have a learning disability.

Here's what my pattern says to do:

Quote:
Cast on 4 sts, and knit across.

Start pattern: Row 1: Knit 1, knit in front and back of next st, k across
After I cast on the 4 stitches, am I supposed to knit that row of cast-on stitches, then begin the pattern Row 1?

I would knit the cast on row, then proceed w/ pattern row 1.

Okay, I was fairly sure that's what it meant, but needed to be certain.

Thank you so much! :D
