New online store selling used knitting needles
Used needles for sale, how cool! It's a very nice looking site where you can buy specific sets of used needles, based on a picture and description of each set. What you see is what you get. Be aware that she sells single needles for those looking to replace a single lost needle. So don't buy a single needle thinking it's a full set! LOL. The site looks great, and I have my eye on some aluminum DPN's for $2.50.

This lady just ordered a CD from me, and sweetly asked permission to link to KnittingHelp from her new site. Of course, being curious, I had to check out her site. I think it's a great idea!

That is a very clever idea!!! I probably won't be able to use her service since I use circs 99.9% of the time. Dpns for socks are the only straight needles I use. I do like the idea even if I can't use it.!!!

Awesome! I have wished for this forever! On so many levels...thriftiness, environmental concerns...

What a great idea! I wish I'd known about her when I first began knitting! She doesn't have the needle (as in singular) size which I need right now, but I've bookmarked her, and will continue to check her site. I found a single size 50 needle at Goodwill one day, but couldn't find the mate to it. I decided to go ahead and get it, since it cost practically nothing. Who knows? Maybe I'll find it a mate at Tara's site some day. :D

Hey Renna!- I'm "Tara" - and I haven't uploaded all my needles yet to the site...I do have a size 50 plastic needle - I'll upload it at lunchtime (I'm on EST) and maybe it's your mate!

Thanks to everyone for their positive words! It means a lot! :D

Carol

PS: I'm all ears when it comes to suggestions about the site...I'm thinking of adding crochet stuff soon, too. :D

Fantastic, Carol! I'll be sure and check your site this afternoon. Even if it's not my exact mate, as long as it's the right size, I'd be happy. I don't care what color it is. I have no problem of interracial marriages between needles (or people).

Okay, is there anyone besides me that didn't know that "Sears" had ever made needles?! I wonder if it is another 'craft' company that happens to have the same name as the well known retailer. Because if those r from the retail Sears store I bet that they are ancient...how cool is that ?!

Hey Rebecca - that's one of the really fun things about doing the taraknit site...The Sears' ones I have so far are these really neat BLUE color (looks at foldedbird/Denise! :D) - kinda a deep denim color. I would love to, down the line, do some sort of research on knitting needle companies. I hear Martha Stewart's company made/sold some too. If anyone hears or sees some odd ball manufacturers, I would love to hear about it!
