VISIT THE ALPACAS
Starved Rock Lodge, Utica
11:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. Tour includes history trolley ride, soup and salad bar at the Starved Rock Lodge and a trolley ride at Apple Tree Acres Alpaca Farm and Fiber Shop. Alpacas are gentle, clean, quiet, and intelligent. Alpacas produce one of the world’s finest and most luxurious natural fibers. $22.00 per person.

I can't go, but someone else might be interested! Here is a map for the geographically challenged (kk). Utica is the site of that big tornado that killed a bunch of people last year, and I try to go support local events when I can.

I've had an online friend for years now, who owns over 200 acres in Idaho. He has so many alpaca(s?)... He's offered before, to send me his sheerings but I don't know thing one about washing, carding, spinning, dying... I'd just have one massive lump of wool and not a clue how to use it.
