ltb yarn winder
I'm actually looking for a link to maybe an on-line shop. I saw the winder at Joanne's and wasn't very impressed. There is a yarn shop a bit far away from where I live that I saw a wooden winder and spindle sort of set up which they used to create pull-through skeins for customers. Does anyone happen to have a link where I might find these types of things?

Thanks for any help! :D

The wooden contraption you saw is a yarn swift, where you put on the hanks of yarn. I have a Royal winder, (and the swift) it's blue and white plastic and it does a nice job. Most of the yarn web sites carry them, so you might want to do a search for the best price.

www.yarn.com has a combo special right now, the swift is not all wood, but the winder looks the same as mine.
