I need a purse! *question below*

I have a some color work I want to do. I was thinking of doing it on a booga bag... but I can't do intarsia (OOOoooOoo did I spell that right?) in the round. Then I was thinking of Poster Boy from SnB... but I'll use that as a last resort (it is sort of boring as far as a purse goes)

Any ideas for patterns?

Are there any bag patterns out there that are knit on two needles and seamed up? Then you could do any kind of intarsia (yes! you spelled it) without worrying about all the extra stuff for in the round.

Oh man, I must have that bangle bag! I've never done cables... how would one go about designing that one? help help, must have it. Would this be a good way to learn cables?

Where would I get the bangle handles?

Ok I found a Tote that I really like and it is the look I was searching for. I am trying to figure out how to get that look but knit it flat. From what I can tell I would need to K1P1 then knit till the last 2 st and K1P1 again? Does that sound right? Just get a nice ribbing at the ends?

I can't get this to load, but you could play a little and see what place in the ribbing would be least noticeable. You might want to make a selvedge to stitch together.

I have that bag on my todo list, too! If you really want to knit it flat, knit the front & back the same size with ribbing at the top of each, then a LONG wide strip for the sides & back wtih ribbing on the first and last rows. Join them w/a 3-needle BO on the R side of the work, and that should give you a similar look at the corners.
