are ya kiddin? those are the coolest invention EVER...and one of the reasons i started knitting. it turns fingerless gloves into mittens! you unbutton that little pocket lookin' thing and it goes up over the fingers. i LOVED mine and have been sad since i lost them...i need to learn how to do that stuff so i can make me a new pair!!! (or 10 :rofling: )

I have had THESE FLIP TOP MITTENS (.pdf) on my to do list almost since the day I started knitting!

I adore my flip-top mittens! I can't tell you how many pairs of mittens I lost when I left them on top of the car because I was trying to get one of the girls stuffed into their carseat on a frigid winter day. With the flippy things, I don't have to take them off when I clip dd in.

Couldn't you just knit first pattern, but BO where you want the fingerless part to be?

Nope, I wasn't kidding. I feel rather silly now. I must have these gloves...smokers unite, smoking is a PITA with gloves on...
