Diakeito Diadomina substitutions?

Hello all - I'm a newbie who loves looking at all your projects.

I am interested in trying this scarf

What other yarns--preferably variegated--would work well in this pattern? I'm just not sure I want to spend the money on the diakeito, though it's gorgeous.... (on that note, any guesses as to which diakeito diadomina colors she used?)

I've seen a few in Noro Kureyon out there. I think that every variegated yarn will actually work with this pattern.
I'm planning to knit this scarf with some self-striping sock yarn :D

Edited to say: I'm doing this pattern right now in three different solid colors, so every triangle has another color.

You can try searching on Yarndex for something with the same weight/fiber content...
