Ok, I so want to see this when you get it finished!!! I had hockey locally last year thanks to our USHL team. And after reading this thread, I want a jersey too in case I score some tickets this season. Hmmmm... Like I really need another project...

How "just north of Detroit?" Ferndale? Oak Park?
I grew up in Detroit, but we've lived in Macomb Township (in the Mt. Clemens area) forever.

I must say you are really daring. Wouldn't doing the design be more like intarsia or Fair Isle? Better pick up some bobbins, too. I can't wait to see the finished project.

I suppose as long as you read the chart in the correct direction and carry the yarn over without any holes, you can't go wrong. And you've got, what, 6 weeks before the season starts?

Yeah, as long as I do it right, I should be ok...I love my husband, but not that much...he's getting it for Xmas, not a day before...That's one of the reasons I picked the Flyers instead of the Eagles logo... less colors, less detail, less of a PITA.

I lived in Oakland County almost my whole life, my mom's from Downriver ( Lincoln Park? I think) and my dad grew up in Ferndale. I miss MI a lot, but PA's definitely a happy medium.

 OK, OK.... I had the bright idea of possibly making DH a squares blanket with every team logo in the NHL on it.. If I do, I'll PM you the Rangers chart..

INSPIRATION......I am a Wings fan as well and I was also bemoaning the fact that the Winged Wheel would be might hard to chart....but punkhippiemom's Flyer's sweater gave me the ingenious thought that Wings fans could make the old school Original Six sweater that simply had DETROIT across the front with various stripes of red and white....I simply MUST try this.... :-D

OK, check back next year LOL... That's actually a little too ambitious for me, but maybe all the Philly teams would work...

JGM - LOVE that jersey.... may have to make myself a present...

(btw... have already started on a winged wheel chart! )
