Wow, this Oct. KAL has turned into quite the thread!

That giant bra picture is outrageous Ingrid!!

Beldie, noooooo, oh that's so sad! :( Can't you get more yarn? I know it might not match perfectly, but it seems too sad to rip it!

Rebecca, WOW, that hat must have taken ages! I'm impressed! Nice work!
I confess, I don't have patience to knit anything bigger than socks on size 2 needles. Even socks.... I'm soooo impatient!

I want to make a felted baby hat this week, if I have time before I go. My concept is to do a giraffe-print baby hat, maybe with matching mittens or something. It's sort of obscure, but I've got this concept totally in my head and I just want to see if I can pull it off. If it turns out well, it may make it on the show (just displayed).

I figure I can knit the whole thing in a solid color and then go in and topically apply the lighter-color outline with a crochet hook. It has to be a felted hat, to hide the meandering crochet stitches, which definitely won't look like they were knit in, unless the thing is felted.

It's hard to describe, but should be a fairly quick knit. I'm going to start on it tonight I think. I'll let you know how it goes!

You are talking about knitting the dark colors & doing the crochet-type treatment for the curvy white areas of the body, right? Am I understanding correctly? I think that will be a very cool hat & show idea

Okay, here's my hat....post-blocking and ready for my head
