Hi Everybody!

I have tears in my eyes after reading all your notes!

I am home for a brief visit & to do a couple of loads of laundry, and to spend a little time alone w/ DD!! She has been staying w/ Grandma & Grandpa, and while that's really fun for her, she was ready to come home and see all of us.

DS was feeling considerably better today. When he (finally) woke up this morning, he sat straight up in bed, ate breakfast w/out me bugging him to keep eating, and hopped out of bed & over to the window when he heard the hospital helicopter getting ready to take off. I was astounded! And today was the first day where he wasn't sitting around huddled in his blanket.

My theory about what was going on is that he contracted a virus of some sort, the chemo was knocking out his immune system at about the same time, and that prevented him from efficiently getting rid of the virus. Today his white counts and hemoglobin were heading up, and thus, his body seems to finally be getting the upper hand on the virus. He still -- naturally -- doesn't have all the energy he needs, but the dr. said that if his fever stays down overnight, he *might* (maybe!) get to come home tomorrow!!!

Thanks *so much* to all of you for your prayers and support. You have no idea how touching it is!!!

Love to all of you ...

(p.s. I just checked w/ DH @ the hospital, and DS's temp was about 100.2 12 hours after his last dose of Motrin -- this is a *major* improvement. At it's peak, it was 104.)
