using two strands

Hello everybody, and thanks so much for helping out new knitters!

My question is about using two strands.

If I use two strands I feel like I am increasing because I end up with two loops on my needle after one stitch. If I am using two strands do I knit two together for every stich? Or am I just doing something wrong all together?

If you're using two strands together for the entire project, then yes, you will "knit two together" like you said on every row. You basically have to treat the two strands as one and count what look like double stitiches on your needles as just one stitch.
