my angel christmas ornament pattern
hello hello ! A little while ago I was asked to knit an angel christmas ornament. So, I looked and I looked for a pattern, but I wasn't satisfied with anything I found. After a little searching I decided to make my own and see what happened. My husband took it to work and before I knew it I was knitting a bunch up.

Thought I would share the pattern .... and here it is....

:D Spooky's Angel :D

You will need any kind of yarn you want and really any needle.
I used size 8 needles and red heart yarn on each part
Oh yeah and gage doesn't matter
The hair was baby yarn --- by the way----

with flesh colored yarn (i used tan)

co4
inc into 1st and last stitch (6stitches)
knit
inc into 1st and last stitch (8 stitches)
knit
inc into 1st and last stitch (10 stitches)
rows 6 - 9 knit
k2tog k6 k2tog (8stitches)
knit
k2tog k4 k2tog ( 6 stitches)
knit
k2tog k2 k2tog (4stitches)

Now change to your dress color cuz we're gonna make the body. I used pink, but use whatever you want

rows 15 - 17 knit
increase into 1st and last stitch (6 stitches)
rows 19-21 knit
inc inro 1st and last stitch (8 stitches)
rows 23- 25 knit
increase into 1st and last stitch (10 stitches )
rows 27- 29 knit
increase into 1st and last stitch (12 stitches )
rows 31- 33 knit
increase into 1st and last stitch (14 stitches )
rows 35-37
increase into 1st and last stitch (16 stitches )
continue increasing until you have 24 stitches (i didn't knit 3 rows after these next rows because the body didn't look right... just continue increasing)
bind off

Now put your wingless wonder to the side and let's get started on the wings

Wings -I used white- -make 2-

co 10
inc 1st and last stitch (12 stitches)
rows 2 - 4 knit
k2tog k8 k2tog (10 stitches )
k2tog k2tog k2tog k2tog k2tog (5 stitches )
rows 7 - 9 knit
inc into 1st and last stitch (7 stitches )
k2tog k2tog k1 k2tog (4 stitches )
k2tog k2tog (2 stitches )
k2tog (1 stitch )
tie off stitch

OK now you need to center the wings on the dress. I sewed the wings on with the color as the dress (it just looked better). I put the wings on starting from the top of the wing to the 4th row of the dress on each side. I found it was easier to mark them with saftey pins then sew them on.

LONG BEAUTIFUL HAIR

Now that you have a shinad o'conner angel (and you might be into that) you might wanna add some hair. Just cut your hair to any length in any color (I used yellow baby yarn .... and all i did was wrap it a couple times around a pencil box... so the length is up to you).

EYES
2 buttons

Mouth
pink or red yarn sewn on the face

That's all there is to a spooky angel

newbie
I think a newbie could do it ... considering I'm not that coordinated lol. All you have to know is how to increase.... and what i did was knit in front and back of the stitches to do my increases. I learned how to do that by watching the video on this site...... give it a try. after you do it a couple times you will be a pro !!!!

Spooky,
Ok, thanks for letting me know. Not sure what time I'll have now until after the holidays. I want to make them to hang on the tree. I've got TOO many projects going.
