Should the Butterfly Stitch begin on a RS row?

My latest project is Amy Finlay's Bumble Bee's Sweater. I'm on the back where the Butterfly Stitch begins. I think it's meant to start on a RS row. Has anyone else out there used the butterfly stitch to know whether it should begin on a RS row? The pattern I'm using ends on a RS row prior to the Butterfly Stitch. I'm thinking that I should insert a WS row in the pattern before starting the stitch. What do you think? :thinking:

Looks like to me you should start the butterfly stitch pattern on a RS row. I could be wrong though. Maybe Amy could clarify?

:XX: After doing the butterfly stitch on the RS, it definitely looked right. Now I'm more than halfway through the baby sweater.
