WIP : Poor, sad Lighthouse Cloth
This is my WIP. I don't have a lot of time to knit, which is a little frustrating.

This cloth looks nothing like the one pictured here. I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong! I have holes where the lighthouse beams should be, instead of lighthouse beams (whine).

At least the lighthouse itself looks OK. It's really hard to see because of the variegated color of the yarn, but I liked the yarn a lot so I didn't care.

Oh, and... this is my first project... so it ain't too whoopy. I'm still proud that I've gotten this far tho.

Those are supposed to be holes -- you're doing a great job! :D

Kay, you are doing a great job. This is really quite an undertaking for a 1st project with all of the changes from knit to purl & vice versa!! ...fantastic job, my friend

Your doing great Kristi. Kelly's right, it's very hard to see design's in varigated yarns. I've also discovered designs are harder to see in very dark solid yarns. I also found that out the hard way. Luckily, I wasn't very far into the pattern before I noticed it so I frogged it.

Thanks for the reassurance...

I'm glad that it's SUPPOSED to have holes... for some reason, in the example picture, they didn't look like holes... maybe that's just because whoever knitted the one in the picture is more experienced and has tighter stitches and such?

I hope to finish this darn thing tomorrow... I'm sick of it. LOL. I only get a few minutes a day to knit.

Personally, I think it's a bad picture and/or they didn't block (which would open up the holes more). Shame shame! Yours looks fantastic!
