WIP- Old Shale Scarf
The pattern is free here: http://www.mielkesfarm.com/oldshale.htm

This is to go with the purse for my 11 year old fashionista niece. I hope she likes pink!! So far this pattern has been a good intro into "lace". It's not too difficult as long as you are paying attention.

What a cute set, and perfect for that age (I have one that age as well). She will no doubt squeal when she sees this.

Thanks gals! Yarn is Galway 100% wool, worsted weight. Size 9 needle

Will I need to block this? If so...I better start searching for blocking threads. I'm so fascinated that a combo of knitting, purling and yo's can make such a cool looking scarf.

Many, many thanks to Amy for all the great videos. I've even tried continental knitting (can't quite get it right yet)!

Oh..and the avatar is my sweet dog, Sadie. :D

Thanks-
Brooke

I can't BELIEVE you've only been knitting 4 weeks! Your scarf is beautiful, as is the bag. Your niece will be one lucky little girl.
