FO's - The lace edged hat and my first felted coaster!
It's a little small so I think I'll give it to my niece or the little girl across the street. It came out really cute though!

The "coaster" if you want to call it that was just an experiment. While waiting for my knitpicks order I bought some wool from Joanns. Michaels and Tall Mouse didn't have any 100% wool! What the??! Anyway I found a couple balls at Joanns for $6.99...WAY too much, but I had to do SOMETHING! Anyhoo..I knitted a square and tossed it in a mesh bag w/jeans in the washer. It took a long time to felt, but it finally did.

And, I made a couple of felted coasters, too! They work GREAT!

nice hat!

If you don't mind my asking...what was your gauge (in the stockinette portion) and what was the finished diameter? Just curious!

I just check the hat itself and it's about 5.5 st to the inch in stockinette. I only have size 7 needles so that is what I used. I also use the large size thinking that would workout, but obviously it didn't. When I get my 8's I'll try again. The diameter appears to be about 16.5 inches. Kinda hard to measure, but that's probably close enough.

I think it came out cute anyway and my niece looks cuter in hats than I do. I look goofy.

Okay, one more question! Did you use the large size in the 4 sts/inch pattern, or the 5 sts/inch pattern?

Thanks! :D
