Brought home toys from the yarn shop!
Sorry... couldn't resist that comment, especially since the Ram Wools website *has* been my knitting porn lately! After I spilled the beans to hubby about his not-meant-to-be socks, I sorta kinda talked him into going to the store to pick out the shade of blue that he wanted for his socks. I thought it was a pretty good idea to have my husband with me for SEX... isn't that right? I'm so very glad that we got there with only minutes to spare before the shop closed. There's no way I would have gotten out of there for the $35 I did! I did a bit of fast peeking at the thrummed mitten kits I'd seen on the website, and was much more impressed with them there than online. I can definitely visualize a trip back for the lilac wool and lilac roving for nice warm mitts for me! They also carry the FT patterns, so I will be able to get the patterns you all keep on teasing me with by talking about them all the time!

Oh brother... why does that fit into the porn frame of mind soooo well??? I didn't rub my hubby with his yarn, but he *has* been known to play touchy feely with yarn before...

Actually, it didn't feel very soft when I was balling it, and it's not much better to knit with. Hubby is used to wearing wool socks, so the itch won't bother him. It's called Tuffy by Briggs & Little, which is a company in New Brunswick I believe. My guess is that the wool is from Canadian sheep as well, since the only thing on the label says "Product of Canada". Even though it's an 80/20 wool/nylon blend, it's not machine washable. It hasn't been processed very much either, since I found little bits of dirt and such in it as I wound it. It was actually pretty funny since I had my 9 & 10 yo DDs helping me ball it. They would get grossed out whenever they'd see anything in it. My 3 yo DS had fun too. He was holding the other end of the wool to help Mom too, and it was rubbing the arm of my daughter... she was getting mad because it was so itchy!
