Stained - Wool accident :(
Merry Christmas morning!

Someone has spilled something yucky on my felted bag WIP. (Lucky for them I'm filled with the holiday spirit. ) It was a coffee-colored liquid on WOTA in fern and I *think* I was able to get it out since I got to it quickly. Since detergent is used in the felting process, do you all think it will take care of anything I missed or will it felt the stain in?

Thanks all!

*edit - mod squad was here*

 I don't pretend to *know* the answer but I'd imagine it depends on how long it'll be before you felt. If it's almost done I think the stain will come up with felting i.e. washing - but if it stays as is for a week I don't think the washing will do much. Same as any other stain really.

Does it show as it's drying from you dabbing it out?

Bummer. Better have some more of that Christmas spirit!

it looks like it's gone and it feels pretty dry. i am not near done with this project and i'd be hard pressed to finish it in a week. well, i'm probably halfway done, i think i just started my 7th and 8th balls of WOTA... i wonder if when i'm ready to felt it i can just reinspect and maybe throw a touch of OxyClean or something similar in the wash with the felting or maybe just do a shmear of stain stick if i find anything? i just wish i knew because i would take the rest of my wool and make myself a pair of clogs if i knew this bag was ruined, the zillions of hours i've put into it wasted.... le sigh. it took me 4 rippings to finally get where i am, but i'm at the part in the instructions where you keep going in the round until it measures 18 inches from the base and i'm like 18 inches?!?!?! 18 INCHES?!?!?! C'MON!!!! It's been taking me FOREVER. I wanted to have it done for Distaff Day because there's a chance I'm going to invade the women's event and i think i'm at about 11 inches finally.

thanks!

I would take the finsihed knitted bag ... before felting ... to the sink and "hand wash" the stained part with cold water and laundry soap ... if that doesn't completely work, I would go on to a shout or oxy clean product. Once you have the stain out, then felt.

PS ... I will be there !!!!!!!
