Hopefully Denise and I will get our yarn and needles in the mail this week!! We ordered Shine from Knitpicks for the Picovoli and some Addi circulars from the cool ebay guy.

I can't wait to cast on and swatch (til I get the damned thing right!)!!

Friggers!

Now I'm caught between tubey, the hourglass sweater (which I really adore) and Tempting (which is becoming less so with those damned DPN's...but I'll need those for all of them I'm sure).

I'll decide for sure sure sure, on Thursday. I bought the book with the hourglass pattern in it, so I'm going to see how easy or hard that looks and compare. I'll do swatches and all then too.

All of this has sparked quite the stash organization tho. Nothing like looking at patterns and being absolutely sure you have at least SOME of the materials, except that they can't be found.

Tubey does require dpns for the sleeves...I don't think you're going to be able to get by the dpns unless you knit sleeves flat! :D They're not hard to use at all, honestly.

And, there's no rush--take your time picking out a pattern. You're going to be working on it awhile, so make sure it's something you REALLY want to knit!

I looked at this one when it came out... and tried to imagine what it would look like in some sweet heathered greens, not the "bordello chic" it was knit in - the colors chosen for the demo would definitely make objects appear larger than they are!

My fear is that horizontal line, by way of defining an empire waist would just emphasize the thickest part of my torso. If I were to make this, I would definitely eliminate that line. The rest of the design rocks, and the shaping is spot-on. One thing I do love is the shoulders. This design reminds me of corset designs from the 1840s.
