Can the winter items I'm making for my kids count for this? I bought 2 pounders of yarn for each of them at home {that's 8 HUGE balls of yarn!!!}, and I'm determined to keep knitting and crocheting stuff for them out of it till they're gone {well enough to call them scraps anyway}. I have a double stranded scrunchable scarf on the needles right now, and I want to start a chullo for one of my daughters.

Other than the winter stuff for the kids, and my Skacel sweater, everything else I want/need to work on is my UFOs {which is one of my major resolutions this year}.

It's also known as a skater hat. The pattern I'm basing my daughter's hat on is this one.

Ah HA!

I didn't know that's what that style was called. I have a pattern for one of those, too, but the top of it is rather pointy. I think I like yours better!

I've got links to a couple more knitted ones, and a crocheted one too. All of them except that one are pointy to some degree. I like the smooth, rounded top because it seems to fit under the hoods of their jackets better.
