I think the baby will love it no matter what size it is! It looks soooo soft and...scrunchy!

After making I decided that I want one. :D But I have no idea where I'd find a needle big enough for a Cate-sized blanket.

Hello I have a question about this pattern... I was wondering if I could make that blanket with the k2p1 pattern with this yarn.
Velvetspun: Article 580

Weight Category: 5 - Bulky: Chunky, Craft, Rug Yarn

3.00 oz./85 g (54 yd/49 m)
100% Polyester

Gauge:
Knit: 8 sts x 16 rows = 4" (10 cm) on size 10.5 (6.5mm) needles
Crochet: 9 sc x 9 rows = 4" (10 cm) with K-10.5 (6.5mm) hook

I am making my Brother and Wife a sweater and hat for their baby show and would love to make a matching blanket. That pattern seems so easy that I was hoping I could use this yarn. I am a new knitter and I am a bit nervous about trying anything new. Thank you for your help...

It should work with any yarn at any size, though some yarn will show the pattern better than others. I've never seen that yarn, so I don't know what it will look like, but you can try it and find out. The only important thing is for the cast on to be a multiple of three stitches. If you make one, I'd love to see a picture!

ok great I guess I will just have to try it. Do you think I should do a double strand like you did with a large needle or just stick with the 1 stand size 10.5 needle it calls for? Just wondering what you think Thanks
