loose edges - HELP!
I just learned how to purl and am attempted a k2 p2 ribbed scarf. However, my edges are really loopy/loose and I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I knit the left-handed/continental way. Suggestions? Email me directly at THANKS.

NOT that I'm a good knitter, but I just read about that and it was suggested to slip the first stitch rather than knitting it. In other words just take that first stitch after you turn your work and move it from your left needle to your right without doing anything to it but "slipping" it. Your next stitch on your left needle will still be your second stitch

So you'd: SLIP, KNIT, PURL, PURL, KNIT, KNIT, PURL, Purl, etc.

(Here's that post with before slipping and after samples of slipping the first stitch.

Knit on.....

A lot of people have trouble with ribbing. You might want to look at this for ribbing tips. By the way, it's never a good idea to post your email address on a public forum with all of the spambots cruising the internet these days.
