BTW, my mother is a school guidence counselor in a rural/impoverised area and they LOVE the Linus Project blankets. You be surprised at how cherished these blankets are by the kids who receive them.

Does anyone here do charity knitting?

I participate in the Snuggles Project when I can, and I also do fundraiser knitting for a breed rescue (the one we adopted our beagles from).

I'm hoping to branch out this year and do some knitting for the homeless in Boston and Cambridge.

I do a lot of charity knitting events at my home. I have a friend with cervical cancer, and she has set up a program where she gives gift bags to cancer patients at local hospitals. It's a wonderful way for us to make scarves, hats, and toys for the local patients. I love getting folks together to learn to knit for a great cause. She's taught me so much about how knitting can help people really enjoy the life they are living, even though things seem to be falling apart around them.

I am currently knitting hats/scarves/mittens/blankets for foster children in my area. Not affiliated with any established charity, I have a couple friends who remove children from their parents, and always accepting yarn donations :XX: for the kids!

I knit with my daughter at her school, once a week a bunch of the kids and parents meet at the school gym to knit items, alot of it goes to the local boys and girls club, but other places also get items.

I knit on a regular basis for the NICU at our local hospital as my daughter was a patient there, and 6 years later my twin nieces were there, and both times the babies got the most beautiful sweaters and hats.
