My Denise set; Lion Brand Baleen (nice points) Brylane, and (drum roll) I just finished a pair of two needle gaunlets on a pair of Brittany birch needles (size 5). They were to die for. Great points, not too heavy, just slippery enough. Love, love, love them.
I use my interchangables a lot, but my favorites so far are the Susan Bates Quicksilver. They are metal, but with a finish that makes them almost a comination of plastic and metal. But I have never used Addis, so who knows?
I love my Denise's. They're my favorite because they are so versatile. I also love my Addi Turbo's too, but not nearly as much as I love my Denise's. I learned on bamboo because they came in my how-to kit but I hate them. They are way too draggy. There isn't enough wax paper in the world that can make them usable, IMO.
I bought bamboo needles for a while because I like the way they look, but they tend to have a slight bend or warp to them. They are rarely perfectly straight, sometimes they are curved really badly. Knitting with curved needles is really annoying. Inspect your bamboo needles thoroughly before leaving the store.
I like wood the best for larger sizes and aluminum for thinner gauge needles.
I have a set of Brittany single points, a set of Brittany double points, and am slowly gathering as many Lantern Moon Ebonys as I can. Love them all but the LM's are so smooth to work with. Besides, one can never have too many needles or too much yarn! :D
