Sock - Up or Down?

Hi - I have just joined the group and already have a question. Last night I spent quite awhile getting my first ever sock started (and I watched Amy's video on dpns). I think I cast on OK, got a neat little triangle set up and started my k2 p2 ribbing around for the cuff. Now the finished sock (right side on the outside) is coming up towards me rather than hanging beneath the needles. Is this correct? It feels a little strange, but then so does this whole process <lol>. I hope I've described this clearly and someone can understand my question and I look forward to the day when I will have enough info and experience to be able to help someone else

And yes, the sock will be coming towards you as you knit it. (Outside the needles and kind of leaning toward the left as you work the stitches, right?) That freaked me out at first, too; I was pretty sure I was knitting it inside out or something, but that's not so. Knitting on dpns in general is kind of odd at first, but it sounds like you've got it!

As long as the knit sts are on the outside and your working yarn is coming from the right needle, you're doin okay.
