That is gorgeous, and wow, especially gorgeous for a first sweater! Fantastic work!

And as for posting pics just for compliments-- :rofling: :rofling:--we're often too hard on ourselves; the compliments help keep our knitting in perspective!

How did you like working with mercerized cotton? I've been tempted several times to knit with it....

They were actually very happy about it! They absolutely want children, but are both young and (wisely) waiting. Thankfully the thought behind my gift was not misunderstood!!!

I liked the yarn but it's not really as forgiving as other types that have more give and personality. I'm mostly curious to know how it holds up to laundering, but it'll be a LOOONG time before I find out!!

That sweater is GORGEOUS!

Im glad you knew they were purposefully waiting before you did that, though....my experience with infertility was SCREAMING hoping that they weren't already trying and having trouble....
