Denise Needles - 16 inch
Am I missing something or can you not make a 16in out of these??

The needles measure 4in each for me and then the shortest cords are 5in and 9in making 13in and 17in total.

Is this correct or am I doind something wrong?

ok - so it's not just me!

the only probably is i've casted on 90 stitches for a little drawstring back and i CAN'T get them joined!! one inch less and they'd be fine. :(

maybe i'll just have to buy a set of 16in in the size i need.

You could probably get away with fitting them on the shorter set, if they're comfortable for you to knit with.

what kind of yarn are you using? that seems like a lot of stitches to not get around unless you are using a really fine yarn.

debbie bliss something or other! i can't remember and i lost the label.

i think the 5in cord is a little small, but i might try that it.

i'm trying to make a soft drawstring pouch in the smallest size. i can't remember the name of the book right now - something knitted gifts maybe.

You can't make a 16" with the Denise's. The 17" has never been a problem for me. Although I can see where it might be. Also the cast on edge is usually tighter that regular knit. I've found that the first round is tougher but once I'm past the cast on the 17" works just fine. Maybe you could try to cast on a one size bigger needle. I suggest you go to http://knitdenise.com/about.cfm to get the lowdown on your kit. They have great tips and tricks on that page too.

thanks for the info!

i've used my Denise needes quite a bit and never had a problem with the 17in deal either. i do realize that the cast on is always tighter. there's just NO way that i could get this joined.

i'll check out the site and see if they say anything! thanks! :D
