Elongated Stitch
Is an Elongated Stitch and the drop garter stitch the same thing?
Is the drop garter stitch worked the same way as the Elongated Stitch.

Please explain.

Thanks for your help.

I'm not familiar with the drop garter, but with elongated stitch you usually do yos (or wrap the yarn around the needle a certain number of times) in one row and then in the next row instead of knitting into those stitches, you drop them off the needle. Amy has a video of it on her scarves page of the Free Patterns section.

Hope that helps--if not, is there a specific pattern where this is mentioned that you have a question about?

I got this free pattern from KnittingHelp.com. It's the Cashmerino Chunky Scarf. It recommends Debbie Bliss Cashmerino Superchunky yarn. The pattern stitch is the drop garter stitch.

From what I can tell, drop garter and elongated stitches are the same.
