Thanks Sandy, I ordered the book. I think it is something I might actually make for myself one day. Looks so simple. I am hoping to see yours finished soon.

Thank you all for the encouragement!

Sue, I think you'll really like the book. And, if you come across anyone else who is wanting to learn to knit a sweater, this book will be PERFECT for them as well. It walks you through every step of the process, with COMPLETE instructions and wonderful diagrams. I love it! I haven't had a single question during the entire project. So encouraging.

I'm almost finished with the right front now. I should be casting on the first sleeve tonight!

It sounds like you have found a good pattern. You have given it high marks for clarity. It really does help when the directions are clear.

Your project is looking good. I look forward to seeing the FO.

About hair color (and yours was lovely)....I was blonde as a young person, and have always felt like a blonde (not the dumb part), but my family just laughs at me. I tell them that not only am I a blonde, I am getting blonder all the time, and they just say, "Yeah, right." LOL

OMG! I'm the same way! I have so many knitting books....there is NO WAY I can remember what patterns I have. I need to scan them all, then organize them by category so I really know what I have.

I miss my red hair, but I don't mind being a blonde. I think I got more attention when I was a redhead though....but it was probably because I was young, cute, and thin at the time.

I'm almost finished with all the knitting! The back, left front, and right front are all done. I've doing both sleeves at the same time, so they will be the same length.

Thanks Dollyce! I like it too, and I KNOW it will be warm.

I've only made one other sweater before, and it was actually a summer top. It was made with cotton yarn, so it was a completely different experience.

I love your summer top also. I've kicked around the idea of some day, trying a sweater so thanks for heading me in the direction of a good book. Love the color of your sweater also. >^,,^<

Oh wow Sandy! I love the colors, and I love the vertical stripes!
Very flattering I might add! You look so sunny in your top!
What a radiant smile you have!
