I'm Christian but not Catholic. I was raised Catholic and we participated in lent by giving up different things. I havent celebrated lent like this since I was a kid. However I really like the idea of Lent being a time of focus. So the last few years of I have spent the time focusing on something that will make me a better person, wife, mother, Christ-follower, etc. This year I am doing the same.

I talked with my teenagers last night, and they are going to work on cleaning up the language. Woo woo! They are great kids.....but when they get going, especially with each other, they attempt to try to out-crude each other, and it gets out of hand.

EXCELLENT Article....I'm Lutheran, and have always felt, why give something up, if I give it up, I shouldn't be doing it anyway, and there is NO way I could become like Jesus, AND, he did it for me anyway!!! There's NOTHING I can do!!!

But the article really focused on a change of person, not to see how strong we are!!! I will totally send this to all my Lutheran friends!!!

thanks for sharing.
