I have a site that shows how to recycle a sweater and wind the yarn into a hank, it doesn't show how to dye yarn though but maybe it will help:

Thanks from me too! A friend of mine who crochets was just asking me about this the other day & I haven't had the time to go searching.

'Course now I'm going to have to start hunting through all the thrift stores looking for sweaters to rip to shreds... oh good, another obsession!

Iím never going to get my house clean, am I? ''
