how do i knit words into something?
Hullo all.

i'm a newbie and strugging to find anything on the net that explains or helps me learn how to write words in a garment, like writing my username down the side of a scarf or something.

I've also never used fair isle or anything like that where you carry yarn along the back so that confuses me to.

any help would be appreciated.
Thank you xx

To put letters on something, you'd be using the intarsia technique. Amy has video here and there is a site explaining intarsia here.

There are also usually instructions in most comprehensive how-to books.

It's not really difficult, but there are techniques that need to be used to prevent holes and bunching.
